Sharing is one of the principles of God’s Family. “Neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common. Neither was there any among them that lacked” (Acts 4:32,34).
We must learn to share with others if we’re going to have complete and total fellowship and unity. Instead of drawing a circle and shutting the others out, maybe you need to draw a circle and take them in. You can accomplish much more by sharing more and helping others more. It’s not subtracting, not dividing, it’s all adding. The more you give, the more He will give you! “Freely ye have received, also freely give” (Mat.10:8).
Sharing has no stopping place! We should be willing to sacrifice anything and give our all, whether it be to the Lord or our Family or whoever! Sharing helps us be kinder and better to each other, and love each other more because we see how unselfish the other is. So let’s be good to each other, and love one another, and help each other, and be thankful and giving and kind to each other in every way, with real genuine 100% love, the 100% wholehearted genuine love of God!
When it comes to God and His Work, it’s good business to give to the Lord! It’s good investment, earning the highest possible rate of interest and dividends of anything you can possibly invest in, because He has promised you 100-fold in this life, and in the World to come, life eternal! (Mark 10:30).
The richest people in God’s Kingdom are going to be those who share the most with Him and His. But there is also the other side of the coin, as illustrated by the well-known tale about the rich woman being led to her Heavenly Home by an angel. They walked past many beautiful mansions where other Christians were living, until finally they go to a poor section of shanties and the angel led her through the gate into the yard of a tiny hut. “What’s the big idea?” she said. “I’m used to very fine living!”
“Well,” the angel answered, “our abodes up here are built of what each person sends on before, and this is all you sent!”–Whereas others had sacrificed and lived their whole lives for the Lord and helped many others, and great was their reward in Heaven! (Luke 6:35).
Are you investing in God’s Service and in His Kingdom by giving to the Lord?
We can only find fullness of faith when we are willing to yield our pride and our own will to the Lord. Like Jesus said in the Garden, “If it be Thy Will, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless not My will, but THINE be done!” (Mat.26:39). He has to have our cooperation.
Submission is the first step. If we are unwilling to take this step, we won’t be able to go to other steps! We have to make the decision. He’ll do everything else for us–give us strength, wisdom, life, love. All that He asks is for us to commit ourselves. He likes for us to freely choose and yield to Him because we love Him.
Total love gives all! But if we give our all to Him, He gives His all to us! You can have peace and power that you’ve never known before–with Jesus–if you’ll just let Him control your life. Have faith in God’s love and yield yourself to Him in submission and humility and let Him empower you!
“Deep abiding joy fills all my life today!
There is a special reason why I love to pray!
There is an inner Wellspring deep within my soul:
Jesus, precious Jesus, has at last complete control!”
The best thing that we could possibly ask of the Lord for ourselves is that we all be faithful! “Be thou faithful unto death,” He says, “and I will give you a crown of life!” (Rev.2:10).
If you think about trying to be faithful the rest of your life, that just scares you, that worries you! That’s just too big, you’ll never make it!–But what about today? You may have had your little trials and testings, you may have gotten discouraged, you may have made mistakes. But have you still got your faith today? Then you’re full of faith! You’ve been faithful today!
You can only live one day at a time! You can only be faithful one day at a time! So don’t worry about when you weren’t faithful yesterday or whether you’re going to be faithful tomorrow, but do your best to be faithful today. Just be faithful one day at a time. You don’t even have to have faith for a whole day. The only faith you need is what you have got right now! Just have faith for this moment, right now, one moment at a time.
Just be faithful every day, one day at a time, and you will inherit an eternal crown of life!
Under the New Testament system God no longer requires just a 10% tithe as He did in the Old Testament. Do you know what He requires now?–100%! He expects you to give your whole life and everything you own for the Lord, in full-time service, as much as you can! The tithe is God’s second best! It’s an easy way out for those who are not willing to give all!
But there are others who are in full-time service for the Lord, devoting their full time and energies and everything to preaching the Gospel, and still tithing whatever income God gives them! They are 110%ers! They are actually already giving 100%, plus tithing 10% of their income! They’re giving their whole lives and their time and their strength and serving the Lord completely full-time–plus tithing 10%!
Those people could say, “We are giving our full time for the Lord and God’s service! It’s all going into the Lord’s work. We’ve already forsaken all!–What have we left to give?”–Well, Jesus’ disciples had also forsaken all, yet still He said unto them: “Freely ye have received, also freely give!” (Mat.10:8).
Those are the 110%ers!–Giving 100% of their lives, plus tithing 10% of their income!–Are you one?
Love is the most important thing! That’s really the whole purpose for living, to love God and others.–And that means not just to win the lost ‘way out there, but to win brothers and sisters right here! The whole purpose for everything is love!
Some of our relationships are direct between us and the Lord, like praise and prayer and obedience, but most of them are relationships on a personal level with each other. And the main lessons we’re supposed to learn is to love one another. If we haven’t learned to work with others and how to love them and how to treat them, then we’re missing the major lesson of why we are here in the first place!
We’re not going to grow too much or learn too much unless we learn to have loving interaction with other people, and that’s not easy, it takes patience, love and humility. The Lord gave the simple key when He said, “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you” (Mat.7:12). It takes a lot of learning to learn how to carry that out–and a lot of love! But that’s what we’re here to learn!
Don’t you want to grow?–Then LOVE!
What is God like? Some people picture Him as an angry God–an all-seeing eye carrying around a big stick ready to clobber them!–Or a cruel tyrant, some kind of a monster, who is trying to frighten everyone into Hell! But actually, He’s love! He’s a loving God who is trying to love everyone into Heaven! He’s so close, so intimate, so personal, so loving, so kind, so tender, so gentle, so concerned, and He’s waiting with open arms. The only reason He follows us around is that He’s hoping we’ll turn around and meet Him with open arms!
He never stops loving us no matter what we do. He never rejects us or withdraws His love. He always has hope for us no matter how far we’ve strayed. So if you feel far from God, maybe it’s because you haven’t opened your heart to receive His love and forgiveness! You need not continue to feel condemned for your mistakes and sins, only be sorry, ask for God’s forgiveness, and be forgiven! (Isa.1:18; 1John 1:9).
If you’ll even START God’s way, if you’ll just turn toward Him and start trying to find your way Home, the Father will come running toward you and receive you with open arms of love! (Luk.15:18-24).
God made us to be sexy, emotional, loving and kind, and people who are ruled by their emotions–desire, sex, affection, sympathy and love–are more normal and righteous than those who pretend they don’t need it, and look down on others who do.
If you’re not emotional, affectionate and loving, then you’re not like the Lord wants you to be, you’re not natural, you’re that way contrary to the natural laws of God!
But some people are afraid of sex, and others are sick of it. The first are plagued with inhibitions and feelings of guilt, while the others are satiated with disgust and contempt! The Devil has deceived them both–both the so-called saint and the profligate are in the same fix! Both need to learn from God’s Word that sex is good, and not evil!
True, there are differences in personalities, but those whose intellect rules them and who have so much self-control are inclined and tempted to be victims of pride and self-righteousness! Love, emotion and sex are humbling. But it’s quite possible to be both intelligent and sexy! God’s way is to be sexy! So being sexy is good because it’s being emotional and honest.
By the law we are judged for our sins and condemned to suffer and die. But Jesus came to save us by love, by His grace, by His mercy, showing that love and mercy are greater than the law! And Jesus Himself said His Law of Love is now all the law, as well as all the prophets!
But when people are not willing to receive the revelations grace gives and the freedom that grace gives, they always turn back to legalism and the law to prove their points, that it is not according to the law, not according to Moses, or not according to Paul! And when they do that, they are also turning their backs on the freedom of grace and the liberty which the Lord has given us! It all boils down to whether you’re going to believe more in Moses or Jesus!
You’ve either got to go all the way by grace or you’ve got to go all the way by law, because if you go back to the law even on ONE point, you are obligated to keep the WHOLE law! (Rom.11:6; Jam.2:10).
So “stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free!” (Gal.5:1). Long live Love!–Amen?
PP Blog Editor: Millennial students CAN believe in “Thou shalt Not Kill“, but only when it concerns themselves! When it comes to babies they can think up all kinds of justifications for murdering them. Why do they hate cute innocent babies so much that they want to kill them? Because babies are a little bit of work and responsibility? Babies cramp your style if all you want to do is fuck.
Baby murder is a legalised form of selfishness. The ancient Canaanites were famous for it, even the females. And the Jews in Baylonian exile too! I guess they were all tired of having to take care of so many babies in times without birth prevention pills, and so they were not against throwing them in the furnace flames of the idol Baal or to sacrifice them to Moloch.
