BEIRUT, LEBANON (7:45 P.M.) – Groups of people who managed to escape the fighting in Marawi arrived at a madrasa in the city on Saturday. The army says that more than 150 people were rescued on Saturday, 46 of them children.
Among the escapees was Noor Lucman, an Islamic writer who helped shelter Christians from the Islamic State-affiliated (IS; formerly ISIS/ISIL) attackers. Lucman described proecting a group of Christians who were carrying out repair works at his home. “I had an ordeal because one day before the attack, there were some Christian workers who were in the house, fixing the small tower,” he said. “So when it happened, they could not leave the city. So I had to take responsibility and protected them.”
Lucman went on to explain that when the IS-affiliated fighters came knocking at his door he told them to leave. “If they knew that there were Christians in my house, they would all be beheaded and executed,” he stated.
Over 150 people have already died in the clashes after violence broke out on May 23, when Maute fighters gunned down several people in Marawi in response to the arrest of the alleged leader of the local IS branch, Isnilon Hapilon. Dozens of gunmen would go on to burn several buildings and plant the black flag of IS in the city centre.
President Rodrigo Duterte has declared martial law in the area for a period of 60 days.

Marleen Brooks of San Francisco, California, came home to a heartbreaking note from one of her neighbors. The 90-year-old woman living down the street wrote her saying she was lonely. She asked if the two could be friends.

The note read: “Would you consider to become my friend. I’m 90 years old- live alone. All my friends have passed away. I’m so lonesome and scared. Please I pray for someone.”
Marleen went over to her elderly neighbor’s house with a friend the next evening to introduce herself with cupcakes in hand. Continue reading “A Lonely Old Woman Asked Her Neighbor To Be Her Friend With Heartbreaking Note”
Dasrath Manjhi, a landless farmer from India, made history after he spent over two decades chiseling away at a mountain with rudimentary tools, in order to create a road for his community, when the Government refused to.
If you’re looking for some motivation, stories don’t get much more inspirational than that of Dasrath Manjhi. 53 years ago, he set out to carve a 1 KM-long path through a rocky hillside, all by himself, in order to make it easier for his fellow villagers to access schools, markets and neighboring villagers. “This hill had given us trouble and grief for centuries. The people had asked the government many times to make a proper road through the hill, but nobody paid any attention. So I just decided I would do it all by myself,” Manjhi told Indian newspaper Tehelka, in 2007, a shortly before succumbing to the cancer that was plaguing him.
With just his chisel, hammer and shovel, this legendary man turned what was once a precarious one-foot-wide passage into a 360ft-long, 30ft-wide road accessible by bicycle and motorcycle. The hill kept the region’s villages in isolation, forcing people to trek through dangerous terrain for hours just to reach their lands or the nearest market town. Children had to walk eight kilometers to reach school, but thanks to Dasrath Manjhi’s handmade road, that distance has been reduced to three kilometers, and people from over 60 villages now use it every day.
Young people have much more power than they realise. In the next video it shows how nice young people personally canvas to their peers and to their older generation – ON THE STREETS! – for ‘Le Front Nationale’ of Marine Le Pen for Patriotism and Nationalism. I think it is great to be a patriot -to love your own people- , but “nationalism” has been the curse of centuries, heavily exploited by the Intl Bankers to foster wars and international wars like WW1, WW2, and imminent WW3! [SEE video & article, and then our post!]
France: Youth Backing Le Pen – “Nearly 40% of French 18-24 year olds support Le Pen and FN”. This is far higher than young voters polled for Brexit or Trump. Landslide incoming?
The YOUTH have got the POWER! Alas so FEW use it for the Kingdom of God, too ashamed of Jesus Christ!
Paradise Post Blog: Here young people humbly go on the streets to accost and befriend other young and even older people to move and motivate them to vote for their party. Result? It WORKS! It causes great numbers to follow in their footsteps. I just wish – and so does the disappointed Lord of the Harvest! – that they would do it for His Love, His Kingdom, His lost souls still out there, His young people deceived by the Matrix, His children of God that are pining in corners, in soul poverty, in misery and discontent, deceived by Cultural Marxist wolves, and Media usurpers and other soul-gobbling m0nsters of the 21st century! Probably the last Century of man!
It is so strikingly sad that so few young people are willing to go on the streets in teams like that, supported by their own camaraderie to do the impossible, to forego their own pleasures, to crucify their own desires, to despise the shame of the Cross, to crucify their flesh by making themselves of NO reputation, to reach their peers where they are at! At universities, popular locations, famous shopping streets, schools, anywhere where they can reach out to their own generation and even their older people. So sad. [Thank God, I know two who do!]

Many people were scrambling to get indoors after a storm hit Bridgewater, Nova Scotia. However, when this guy saw a man on an electric wheelchair struggling to get uphill, he hopped out of his car and pushed it to the top. He didn’t care that heavy rains were pouring on him, he just wanted the man in the wheelchair to be safe.

A 22-year-old supermarket employee invited a lonely widower to Christmas dinner after hearing he spends most his days alone. Edwin Holmes, 86, wore his best suit to have dinner with Sainsbury’s worker Ellie Walker. And when he arrived with flowers for Ellie she said it reduced her to tears. (Photos credit: Sainsbury’s)
“He said it was his first ‘date’ in 55 years and he was as nervous as a schoolboy,” Ellie told The Sun. “It made me cry because I could see how much it meant to him. For me it’s the most important part of my job to speak with customers and see how their day is going.”
