A true pioneer is only happy pioneering! The real pioneer with a true pioneer’s heart and a heart for the field and a heart for the battlefront is not satisfied just to sit down and rock along! He never settles down, he’s always pioneering!
The pioneer is only interested in pioneering! Once he’s got something built, he loses interest and he’s happy to let somebody else run it, while he moves on to pioneer again! As soon as one new field becomes settled and well enough established that someone else can take his place, he gets itchy feet for far-away places that have never been trodden by his feet before, and away he goes, leaving his former field to those who aren’t yet ready to go! Once the pioneer has established a new work of God and things are going well, almost any good leader can keep it going with the Lord’s help!–While the pioneer goes on to pioneer another!
Are you like an arrow that wants to be shot into the sky and land in some new field you care not where as long as it’s out of here in some place else, some place different, some place new where others haven’t been before?–That’s the spirit of a true pioneer!
When it comes to God and His Work, it’s good business to give to the Lord! It’s good investment, earning the highest possible rate of interest and dividends of anything you can possibly invest in, because He has promised you 100-fold in this life, and in the World to come, life eternal! (Mark 10:30).
The richest people in God’s Kingdom are going to be those who share the most with Him and His. But there is also the other side of the coin, as illustrated by the well-known tale about the rich woman being led to her Heavenly Home by an angel. They walked past many beautiful mansions where other Christians were living, until finally they go to a poor section of shanties and the angel led her through the gate into the yard of a tiny hut. “What’s the big idea?” she said. “I’m used to very fine living!”
“Well,” the angel answered, “our abodes up here are built of what each person sends on before, and this is all you sent!”–Whereas others had sacrificed and lived their whole lives for the Lord and helped many others, and great was their reward in Heaven! (Luke 6:35).
Are you investing in God’s Service and in His Kingdom by giving to the Lord?
Never underestimate the power of personal witnessing to not only win souls, but inspire and encourage your own heart, set you on fire and keep you alive spiritually as you battle right on the front line in the Hell holes of the Devil to rescue lost sheep!
“The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself” (Pro.11:25). Witnessing in itself is a form of reward and blessing and encouragement, and it inspires our own hearts as we watch the Lord work. It will not only be worth it all when we see Jesus, but it’s worth it all right now to see the wonderful, thrilling and satisfying results of our labors!
Everyone we witness to, we’re wooing them in the Spirit.–Wooing and loving and sowing the seed of God’s Word in the Spirit. We can’t win them all!–But God will give us enough to keep us encouraged, so we won’t quit!–And those we do win are worth it all!
“Seldom can a heart be lonely,
If it seeks a lonelier still.
Self-forgetting, seeking only
Emptier cups of love to fill!”
–The more you give, the more He will give you!
Jesus is our Message! We preach Jesus! We preach His Word, we preach His Love, we preach His Gospel, the Good News of Salvation, we preach faith in Him, we preach Him as the answer to all of our needs–physical, spiritual, mental and with hope for the future and Heaven at last! This Message answers all our questions, meets all our needs and is the solution to all the problems of the whole world if they would just listen and receive it and obey it!
What Jesus said is still true, regardless of nationality, country, color or creed: “If I be lifted up, I will draw all men unto Me!” (Jn.12:32). All we need to do is go out into the highways and the byways and the hedges and compel them to come in (Luk.14:23). We need to call them.
We have to bid them to come. Although we’re His bride, we’re also a type of the bridegroom calling them to come–wooing them by His Spirit. So show them love, His love! Point them to Him and constantly glorify Him, Jesus, and His Love! If they want Him, they will come, and His Spirit will explode in their hearts!
It’s all Jesus! Thank the Lord!
Under the New Testament system God no longer requires just a 10% tithe as He did in the Old Testament. Do you know what He requires now?–100%! He expects you to give your whole life and everything you own for the Lord, in full-time service, as much as you can! The tithe is God’s second best! It’s an easy way out for those who are not willing to give all!
But there are others who are in full-time service for the Lord, devoting their full time and energies and everything to preaching the Gospel, and still tithing whatever income God gives them! They are 110%ers! They are actually already giving 100%, plus tithing 10% of their income! They’re giving their whole lives and their time and their strength and serving the Lord completely full-time–plus tithing 10%!
Those people could say, “We are giving our full time for the Lord and God’s service! It’s all going into the Lord’s work. We’ve already forsaken all!–What have we left to give?”–Well, Jesus’ disciples had also forsaken all, yet still He said unto them: “Freely ye have received, also freely give!” (Mat.10:8).
Those are the 110%ers!–Giving 100% of their lives, plus tithing 10% of their income!–Are you one?
Bearing “fruit that shall remain” was a part of the Lord’s call! He intended for us to win souls and make disciples of all nations who will be able to carry on without us when the time comes!–To do that we must not only get them saved, but get them organized, get them together and teach them how to sustain and support and protect themselves after we’re gone!
The most lasting missionary works in the world have continued on in countries even now closed to the Gospel, where the natives were taught to carry on by themselves after the missionaries were gone!–While other Christian strongholds soon died out after the missionaries were gone for lack of strong native leadership!
If your present service for the Lord ended right now, what would be left that would last? How much would you have to show for all your years of labor? Have you taught your sheep to mature and become not only lambs, but ewes and rams who could bear fruit and carry on?–Or have you suffered so many things in vain? (Gal.3:4).
“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (Jn.3:16).
Jesus made the way for us to be saved when He climbed Mount Calvary and died alone for the sins of the world! That was a price that He alone could pay for you and me!–But He did it!
“Hereby perceive we the love of God, because He laid down His life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren” (1Jn.3:16).
Jesus alone could save us, but He cannot save us alone.–If we’re really saved we’re going to want to take others with us. We can’t work for our own Salvation, but we can work for the Salvation of others! These works are not required for Salvation, but they will come as works of love and labors of love for the Lord! They’re a manifestation of Salvation and your love for the Lord and others! Once we get saved, the most important job each of us has is to give our lives daily in loving concern and care for others! Jesus came to love the world, and He calls us to do likewise in every facet of our lives!
No witnessing is ever wasted! God will see to it that if you cast your bread on the waters it will accomplish the purpose whereunto He has sent it. His Word shall not return unto Him void (Ecc.11:1; Isa.55:11).
Witnessing always pays and it always accomplishes results. Whether you win souls or not, you’re obeying God and doing His Will and fulfilling your obligation of preaching the Gospel in all the world to every creature and delivering your soul! Even the blood of those who wouldn’t listen and who rejected you and your Message will not be upon your hands.
The Word will do the work. Once You’ve given them the Word, your job is done. They can then choose to go to Heaven or to Hell. Witnessing is merely delivering God’s Message. What the people do about it is between them and God. When you have “warned the wicked of their wicked way,” you have delivered your soul (Eze.3:19). To deliver their souls they must then receive and believe the Word of God!
God’s Word never fails!–It either saves or damns! So even if you never win a soul, you’re still winning as long as you’re faithfully witnessing!
21In so many countries of the world today, their greatest problem is their children. What they fail to realize is that the world of tomorrow is what the adults of today make it, according to what they choose to give or not to give the next generation! Capture the youth and you’ve conquered the future!
“Train up a child in the way he should go,” the Bible says, “and when he is old he will not depart from it” (Pro.22:6). We need to mold their minds and educate them and inspire them and encourage them, and most of all we really need to build their faith!
Children are the most sincere people in the world.–And they’re at the age of malleability when they can still be bent and molded. It’s an age of choice, an age of decision. It takes time and patience and understanding and lots of real love to reach them but that’s actually when most people accept the Lord.
“Open the door for the children,
Tenderly gather them in,
In from the highways and hedges,
In from the fields of sin.
Open the door for the children,
Tenderly gather them in.”
–For of such is the Kingdom of God! (Mark 10:14).
What does that really mean, “Wait on the Lord”? Well, a lot of people have taken that to mean they’re supposed to sit around doing nothing while they wait for God to do something. They’re waiting for God to do something for them rather than with them. They’re not waiting on God!–God’s waiting on them to get busy!
Finding God’s Will is not just sitting around doing nothing!–It’s doing what you can! The secret is doing something else while you’re waiting. To “wait on the Lord” is like a servant waits on his master. That’s the kind of waiting the Lord is talking about. “Wait on the Lord” like a waiter or a waitress, serve the Lord, keep busy!
And that’s what we do for the house of God: We are His servants taking care of His house, His children. We feed and clothe them and take care of His babies, and He really is grateful for our help and admires us for our service. The picture of waiting on the Lord is like waiters and waitresses waiting on a customer, where the customer is king and can do no wrong! That’s serving the Lord, that’s waiting on the Lord, that’s ministering to the Lord and others!
