Smith Wigglesworth’s was a “funny” guy yet he was a great soul winner who preached the Gospel and won the souls left and right. He was not so much a churchian, he was rather a REAL fruitful Christian! Wigglesworth’s ministry of faith, miracles, signs and wonders changed the face of Christianity and set the stage for the Charismatic Renewal that would restore the ministry of the Holy Spirit to the modern church. Hear Pastor George Storemonts first hand experiences of his travels with Wigglesworth.
You don’t have to be down on your hands and knees to be praying. In fact, in everything you’re doing you ought to be praying and looking unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of your faith.
Prayer is like breathing, just breathing the Holy Spirit all the time. Stay in constant communication with the Lord, constantly thinking about Him, and you will be anointed and Spirit-led in everything you do! If you’re praying about what you’re doing and asking God for wisdom, He has promised to give it to you!
The Lord can save you a lot of work, a lot of trouble and a lot of time if you’ll just pray first before you start a job. Pray about it and ask the Lord to help you and lead you, even if it’s just a word–“Jesus, please help me!” You can pray in a split second and get the answer back quick, but if you lean on your own understanding and your own wisdom you’re apt to make a sad mistake!
So “pray without ceasing!” (1Th.5:17). Ask the Lord about everything, every problem, every decision, and make sure you’re doing what He wants you to do. “In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths!” (Pro.3:6).
You ought to try a little prayer time every day, early in the morning before beginning your day’s work, asking the Lord to help you, lead you and guide you. When you first wake up, before you do anything, talk to God! Get your orders from Him for the day and you’ll be amazed at how He’ll solve a lot of your problems before the day even starts, simply by listening to what He has to say!
But if you go plunging into all your problems and troubles and your day’s work without stopping to talk to the Lord and get your directions from Him, you’ll be like a musician who decided to have his concert first, and tune his instrument afterwards! Begin the day with the Word of God and prayer, and get first of all in harmony with Him!
Don’t ever think, “It’s too hard to pray,” or “I haven’t got time to pray!” The busier your day, the more reason you have to pray and the longer you ought to pray!–If you’ll just spend a little more time praying, you will find that you’ll spend a lot less time working to get things done later, because if your day is hemmed with prayer, it is less likely to unravel! It’s just that simple!
A little full-of-faith prayer from a little child can turn the tide! “And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receives me. But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hang about his neck and cast into the sea!” – Jesus said it and he meant it. God bless these humble policemen.
