On October 31, 1917, 500 years ago, Martin Luther – the best Catholic in 1517 AD! – nailed his 95 thesis to the church door in Wittenberg Germany. Why? Because he was a protesting devil? No! Luther was the most conscientious Catholic at that time, who didn’t just want to flagellate himself into perfection doing penance for his sins, or polish monastery floors squeaky clean, but he was convicted by Scripture to want to make Catholic doctrine squeaky clean again by bringing it in harmony and unity with Scripture! “Here by the grace of God I stand, and I cannot do else!”
