There is a new interpretation doing the rounds among some obsessed with Jesuits. Just because one Jesuit had a certain „futurist” interpretation of the future promises and Bible prophecies in Revelation and Daniel, it appears they have thrown out the baby with the bathwater.
Here is the key prophecy in Daniel 9 where the angel Gabriel gives him the answer to his prayer for “thy people and thy holy city!”
24 Seventy weeks [sevens!] are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.
9:25 Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two [62] weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.
9:26 And after threescore and two [62] weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.
9:27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate. HEAVEN! THE REAL STORY! One reason I like to talk about Heaven, think about Heaven and read about Heaven is because, after all, that’s where we’re going to spend Eternity, so it’s a pretty important place and we ought to be pretty interested, don’t you think? It’s our Eternal Home, the place Jesus has gone to prepare for us forever, so we certainly ought to be interested in it and want to know what it’s like and what we’re going to be like when we get there!
Heaven will be our last move!–No baggage, no luggage, no hard journey, no packing, no long travel! It may be a long way, but it may be closer than you think! You can’t take it with you! Whatever you have there you will have already sent ahead in the way of souls won, victories won, battles won and rewards won for your service here! Heaven is our Home and the Heavenly City our destination.
Heaven is not the end: it’s only the beginning. Heaven is going to be like this life, only better!–With all of the assets but none of the liabilities! In a heartwarming display of generosity and gratitude, French baker Michel Flamant recently sold his boulangerie to a homeless man for just €1. The man, Jerome Aucant, had previously saved Flamant from suffocating to death inside the bakery, during a fire.
Flamant admits to being a rather “piggish character”, but he’s proven that his heart is in the right place. In fact, long before his brush with death, he would greet Aucant outside his establishment every morning and treat him to a cup of coffee and a croissant. And his kindness eventually paid off on that fateful day in December when he nearly died of carbon monoxide poisoning. Sure, even God’s kids can mess up too much. But not with God! I mean that in a way of, we can mess up our bed, mess up our kitchen, mess up our lives, even commit suicide! But it is not God that is doing it. God always has hopes for us, even when we mess up, thinking we messed up too much. I messed up losts of times, and Big Time!
Sure we reap results from our sins and sinning, but it is not God sending it. It is like Karma coming back to you. God always has a positive spin for us, even if we wind up killing someone and land in jail, or get sentenced to death. A sin unto death! God will still be there for you, and take you on from there.
Oh, you don’t think so? Well, how about King David! He stole someone else’s wife and then killed her husband! Was that the end of David? No! Because he had some sweet special deal with God? No way! For two seemingly eternal minutes, Chile is rocked by a massive 8.8-degree earthquake with its epicenter just off the coast, 90 km north of the city of Concepción, affecting a huge area from Copiapó all the way down to Temuco, and is even felt as far north as the desert of Atacama and as far south as Puerto Montt, about 3,500 km away, and from the coast all the way across the Andes to Argentina in the provinces of Mendoza, Neuquén and Río Negro.
The cities of Curicó and Talca, with their older constructions and many adobe-made houses, are badly hit. The ensuing tidal waves (three of them) that hit the coastline from Pichilemu to Talcahuano devastated much of what remained standing in the lower areas close to the sea. I tell you it must be hard to go to church. I hardly ever do, but I do have fellowship.. with other loving missionaries who are trying to reach other sinners like them SELVES! How about you? The only difference between sinners and them, is that they are SAVED sinners. Forgiven sinners. Returned sinners who came back to their Creator. And he KNOWS that NO ONE is perfect. MUST WATCH!
